After four years of practice at Darien Pediatrics, Stamford pediatrician Dr. Ester Ramirez founded Summer Pediatrics in 2008. Since opening her own practice, she’s seen a steady increase in patients whose parents are drawn to her warmth, openness and wealth of knowledge on childhood illnesses
The youngest of 12 children, Dr. Ramirez-Cepeda is a native of the Dominican Republic. She earned her medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra School of Medicine (PUCMM) and completed her residency in pediatrics at the world-renowned Mt. Sinai Medical School and Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, N.Y. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
“I enjoy seeing children grow, and I especially love caring for newborns and watching how they develop in the first year,” says Dr. Ramirez-Cepeda. “Parents are the main player in the development of their child and should always be the ones making the decisions. I view my role as a reliable medical partner and advisor, someone who helps parents make the best decisions based on my examinations and recommendations.”
In addition to being a pediatrician, Dr. Ramirez-Cepeda is a mom to Sarah, Lucas, and Sofia. As the mother of young children, she has a better understanding of the health care concerns and needs of today’s children and parents.
